This microwave is an excelent microwave. The auto-defrost mode is excellent as you can decide what type of meat or bread you are defrosting and how much power you should defrost it with depending on how frozen the food is. The only down side is that it is quite noisy meaning that the usual hum of the microwave is much louder that usual, but if you want auto-cooked, auto-defrosted and auto reheated food then this is a good microwave made by the incomparible Panasonic.

I bought this oven to replace a cheap standard microwave that caught fire over a year ago. What I wanted was a large, full-sized microwave, but I found it very hard to find one. This oven has a large capacity, though I wasn't convinced that I would ever use the grill or convection oven functions. However, when it came time to cook the Christmas dinner, I was amazed how wonderfully functional it was. I will never buy a standard microwave again. You have to make sure that you let the convection oven fully preheat BEFORE you use it, but as long as you do that its great. I highly recomend this product. The only bad thing I can say about this oven is that sometimes the display doesn't work properly (pixels are missing) on my oven. This has never been a permenant problem, and the oven has always worked beautifully!

Summary : Works well, but the timer....

Works just like it says on the box.
Even cooking and simple to use.
Robust and well built.

Annoying fact: The timer is fixed, 1, 3, 5 minutes etc.
So if the Chicken Vindaloo says 4 mins, stir and 4 mins, you end up just doing 5 mins, stir and 3 mins instead because you can't be bothered to clock watch.

Still it does cook exceedingly good Vindaloos....

Spec of this microwave looked good so I bought it. It is cheaply made with very thin stainless steel sheeting making up the shell. Also, the unit I purchased did not sit firmly on its four rubber feet just like a wobbly chair or table. So now it has a Heath Robinson wedge under one corner. Not very satisfactory in terms of design and construction. However, functionality is sound and it works well but does get hotter than other microwaves I've used. I have other Panasonic products which are very well put together but it seems that their microwaves are not in the same class.

Summary : Good value for money

We bought this as we wanted a reasonably priced stainless steel microwave to fit in with look of the kitchen - and the previous microwave was many years old.

I regard Sharp as a good brand and the build quality is fine. I can operate it easily and all the basic and some esoteric functions are there and work very well. Needless to say, it comes very well packed with all the required information.

The only reason that I marked it down to 4* is that we had to buy an anti-slip mat as it moved to easily on the worksurface where it sits.

So if you want a good looking stainless steel microwave that works reliably, with the build quality associated with a well known brand name then give this a try.
