I read the reviews on the build quality before ordering and still carried on. After the four week wait for the microwave to arrive, the box is huge and heavy. Removed the microwave and found it wobbled on the work top. Thinking it must be the worktop, I moved it to numerous surfaces. The same result on all, the bottom plate is bent by about 12mm. This causes a quite a wobble, so back to searching for another microwave with these features. Good Luck, all.

disappointed by a broken down Panasonic combination oven (The -do I pay for repair-or dump it and buy brand new- dilemma). I chanced up upon this Sharp oven whilst at Curries, and immediately the design struck a chord. All microwave/combination ovens consist of a round turntable inside a square/rectangular space, so the internal corners are wasted. Ever tried to cram all the bits of a full family dinner inside a standard oven? This oven occupies a standard footprint, but gives a bigger interior. It has two shelves to use as a proper oven. Two square shelves inside a big square space which means two layers of food cooking and no wastage of valuable internal space. Now you can cook not one, but two of those rectangle pizzas designed to go straight on the oven shelf. The microwave part is 900 watts, not as powerful as some ovens at 1000w, but still technically a Category E power rating. Maybe a bigger microwave oven needs more microwaves to fill a bigger space, I'm not sure, but things do take a bit longer to warm up using micro power, but then at least the food isn't blasted and splattered all over the place. The oven works in combinations of microwave/oven, or microwave/grill, but not grill/oven, and of course, when in combination with the microwave, you must use the turntable taking us back to the circle in a square idea again. The grill has two settings, On and Off. Never the less, a smart looking piece of kit, mine sits on top of a second fridge, and my interest in cooking and the curiosity try out new things has returned. If you include free delivery, the price is excellent, delivery was just two days.
A steel roller ring, and a white glass turntable show good choice of build materials. I like to keep my appliances as new, I have pride in my kitchen!

I bought this because it was the largest microwave I could find. I wanted to get a really big bowl in for a recipe I use regularly and no other micro was big enough. The capacity of this one is gigantic, I can easily fit in the largest Pyrex mixing bowl I have. I was not really interested in the combi grill part but it works really well, (baked potatoes are not soggy). I have to say I have not experimented too much as I have two Neff ovens that I use day to day so I don't think I have explored its full potential. I did try cooking crumpets with the quartz grill, rubbish results, so it does not replace the toaster. The microwave is really powerful and I have successfully nuked the butter to a clarified swamp on several occasions, but the MS ready meals come up a treat. The blurb says that it replaces an ordinary oven... not in my view.. it's an as "well as gadget" not an "instead of".

I chose this oven after extensive research, as I was disappointed with my previous Sharp combination oven. The Panasonic has proved to be excellent. The microwave function is powerful and the Chaos defrost works quickly and evenly. The oven even prompts you to turn the food! My big test of an oven is Yorkshire puddings, and both small and large puddings come out beautifully risen and crisp outside on convection only. Cakes also bake well. The grill is also very quick, although you do have to move items around to get even browning. Convection, microwave and grill can all be used independently or in various combinations, including "turbo bake" - all 3 at once! The controls are easy to use - the only minor point to remember is that if you enter a time without selecting a function, you get microwave full power. There are plenty of programmes for specific dishes, although I haven't tried these yet, and standing times are included in these. There are several accessories with the oven, including high and low circular racks, and two shelves, one wire and one solid. The solid one has proved really useful as a baking tray, for oven chips, heating sausage rolls etc. There are also a glass plate, a metal plate and a spatter guard for cooking fatty items. You do have to remember to use the glass plate only for microwaving, and put the metal plate over it for other cooking functions. The oven capacity is not the largest available, but by using the accessories supplied I have been able to fit in all my dishes easily. A great all-round combination cooker, suitable for both keen cooks and people who like convenience.

Spec of this microwave looked good so I bought it. It is cheaply made with very thin stainless steel sheeting making up the shell. Also, the unit I purchased did not sit firmly on its four rubber feet just like a wobbly chair or table. So now it has a Heath Robinson wedge under one corner. Not very satisfactory in terms of design and construction. However, functionality is sound and it works well but does get hotter than other microwaves I've used. I have other Panasonic products which are very well put together but it seems that their microwaves are not in the same class.
