Summary : timer is hardly clear and easy to read
I've had other microwaves with turn dials (though that was years ago) and they were much easier to read than the dial on this microwave. The dots between 0 and 5 are supposed to correspond with each minute but they don't seem to. I have to use my digital timer to get a specific time because using this dial on this microwave is a guessing game.
I purchased this model because I only have the most basic needs (reheating tea and leftovers) and didn't need all the options listed in other models, but spend the extra money cause one you open the box you are stuck with it.

Summary : An excellent microwave
I bought this microwave to replace my old fashioned basic microwave/grill, and it is fantastic. It has microwave, grill and convection oven functions, and I use all of them. I only have a single oven in my kitchen, so this really helps when I need two ovens for a complicated meal.
The other function I really like is the 'Chaos Defrost'. This function means you select the category of your frozen item, then enter in the weight, and the microwave calculates the defrost time and does it for you. It really works - defrosting things without cooking the edges.
I noticed that the slightly bigger version (which I wanted, but it wouldn't fit on the worksurface) which has two shelves, is listed in Feb 06 Good Food magazine, as one of the five examples of microwaves out at the moment. They list the 'Chaos Defrost' as particularly helpful.

Summary : Great product.
Brought this a couple of weeks ago and have forgotten to use my cooker since. It's great for everything from making toasted sandwiches, cooking pizzas to baking cookies. Best of all jacket potatoes are soft inside and crispy on the outside. Only issues I have are that I haven't yet got the hang of the bottom grill and the high rack is too close to the top grill. Over all a great product and it looks cool to tops!

I hate this microwave if you want to just grill something but it resets halfway through and you end up filling your kitchen with toxic black smoke.

Summary : Cheaply made
Spec of this microwave looked good so I bought it. It is cheaply made with very thin stainless steel sheeting making up the shell. Also, the unit I purchased did not sit firmly on its four rubber feet just like a wobbly chair or table. So now it has a Heath Robinson wedge under one corner. Not very satisfactory in terms of design and construction. However, functionality is sound and it works well but does get hotter than other microwaves I've used. I have other Panasonic products which are very well put together but it seems that their microwaves are not in the same class.

Summary : good value but a bit plastic
This is a good value little unit. The button panel is a wipe-clean surface. Controls are easy to use. For example, to cook for a minute just close the door and press start. Press start again to add extra 60 seconds to the time while cooking. Display is easy to use but some illumination would have been nice if the kitchen is dimly lit. While cooking, the food is of course illuminated in the oven. Includes glass turntable. This is good and changes direction each time you open the door. You can take it out to clean it, but it can be fiddly to get it in the right place on the spindle afterward.
Can defrost and cook if you set the right mode for the food inside, but the book could do with more examples of foods and times.
The door is hinged at the left and stops at 90 degrees. Door closing is very heavy though, and you need to push it so hard the whole unit sometimes moves on the worktop, and (due to a spring mechanism inside) the door closes with a very loud clunk no matter how carefully you close it.
Conclusion: It does plenty for the money, but loses out a little on the plasticy finish (which most microwaves seem to suffer from) and the awkward door.

I have had this oven for the last 8 months and this has been really useful cooks food very well and because I don't have a oven it is a perfect alternative and would suit anyone who doesn't have enough room for an oven, or just someone who want a good quality microwave which can be used as grill and oven as well. another good product from sharp highly recommend it.
